Description

Established as part of the Northwest Territory in 1787, Ohio grew to become one of the integral states of the American Midwest. This database, originally published in 1876, is a collection of biographies of prominent men from the state in the nineteenth century. Compiled from a wide variety of sources, entries provide helpful details regarding the individual, including birthplace, occupation, and important achievements. In most entries, names of spouse and children are revealed. In some cases, notable descendents are listed.
