Description

Founded in 1846, the State Historical Society of Wisconsin maintains an extensive archives, museum, library and statewide system of historical sites. This database is a collection of materials originally published by the society in the nineteenth century. The most important part of the collection is a series of papers detailing the British influence on the region between 1763 and 1814. It also contains a listing of American Fur Company employees, a chronicle of the Black Hawk War (1832), and a history of the early schools in Green Bay. Providing a wide variety of information, this database can be a useful tool for researchers of early Wisconsin history and ancestors.
